Google Improves Search Autocomplete, Bases Predictions on Partial Phrases [In Brief]

The autocomplete feature in Google's search engines is pretty useful, but it predicts search terms based on what other people search for. Up until today, it could only predict those terms based on everything you typed into the box, meaning a lot of search terms got left out. Today, Google improved the way autocomplete predicts your search terms: now, it looks at smaller pieces of your search terms instead of the entire thing. For example, not a lot of people have searched for florida state senate building, but enough people have searched for state senate building that Google will recognize that part of your search term and be able to offer autocomplete options where it previously wouldn't.
