Aren't price wars grand? Amid heated competition in the tablet market, HP is trying to sweeten the pot and draw users to its TouchPad slate. As TechCrunch reports, HP recently slapped a $50 "instant rebate" on the device, and this weekend, the company plans to cut the tablet's price by another $50. That will bring the 16GB model down to just $399.99—but only until August 7.
At $400, the TouchPad will be on par with Asus' Eee Pad Transformer, and it ought to be somewhat more enticing than the $499 iPad 2.
